Musica con Vista: Italy’s summer festival of classical music… with a view!

Between the months of June and September, some of Italy’s most beautiful historic gardens, courtyards, and cloisters will provide a privileged backdrop for Musica con Vista, a special series of open-air classical concerts that promise absolutely magical evenings.

This festival, which the AMUR chamber music committee organizes in collaboration with the Italian Association of Historic Houses (ADSI) and Le Dimore del Quartetto social enterprise, will showcase classical music performances in utterly beautiful places that speak volumes about Italy’s incredible cultural identity and heritage. Venues include such treasures as the Mirasole Abbey in Opera, the Castle of Buttrio, the Garden of Philosophers in Solomeo, and the Ducal Palace in Urbania. Most of these locations are part of ADSI and the National Trust for Italy (FAI).

Now in its second edition, the festival’s program will feature a fantastic line-up of young, international ensembles performing timeless compositions. What’s more, each concert will be supplemented by a number of collateral activities to help visitors experience the hidden wonders of the territory. These will include delightful tasting sessions, excursions, readings and exhibitions, all to take place on the day of the live performance.

These small outdoor concerts have been conceived as a way to revitalize the territories, particularly the peripheral areas, by creating an opportunity for institutions, cultural operators, local artisans and associations to come together on the road to recovery.
