Overview

On the Alpe di Siusi stands the ICARO, a retreat and energy oasis. Since 1936, guests and visitors have been fascinated by the view of the Cir peaks and the Langkofel, the Kesselkogel and the Schlern.

The ICARO is a place of power, embedded in the untouched natural and cultural landscape of the Dolomites. Sculptural peaks rise up around the exciting new architecture that gifts the ICARO a new design. Hubert Kostner’s art is also highly inspiring. Renewed and yet respectful of tradition, the transformed ICARO will welcome globetrotters from 1 July 2021 and provide them with wonderful travel experiences through art, nature, pleasure and architecture. The shape of the house recalls the concentrated power of a flapping wing and welcomes its guests with open arms. Angelika Sattler and her family are the third generation to run the house. They grew up on the alp, where they have experienced and continue to love the mountain year-round. The Sattlers confirm: The ICARO is worth the trip.

Facing the horizon, the distant peaks and the nearby meadows, our restaurant is fully immersed in the Alpine atmosphere. Yet, it is also a happy haven for those wishing to indulge in a culinary journey into the unexpected. Open to the public too are an open-air terrace and a number of panoramic indoor dining rooms with a jaw-dropping view and unforgettable meals. Whether it is before or after a walk under the big blue sky of the Alpe di Siusi, whether you ski, sledge or ride the bike, Icaro’s brigade will know how to welcome, enchant and delight you.

Rooms

Rooms, pool, SPA, restaurant, bar and terrace are generously distributed over three levels and become part of the Alpe di Siusi through intelligently conceived niches and perspectives.
The new ICARO plays with the palette all around: rich colors, vivid contrasts, fresh patterns, and lively tones. Every room and every suite reveals a story. Artworks and objects tell of people and places. Colors and shapes speak of rituals and occurrences. You will become part of the Seiser Alm through insights and outlooks.

The monopitch roof and wings of the boutique hotel stretch out towards the sky in an architecturally impressive manner and at the same time reverently withdraw from the imposing cultural and natural landscape of the Alpe di Siusi. The ICARO is a place of encounter. The new architecture harks back to the original form of the house on the mountain that provides shelter.
